Splashing up the Garden Route

Canoeing up to waterfalls in the Wilderness, sea kayaking with the dolphins only a few metres away in Plettenberg Bay, Hiking on the spectacular Robberg Peninsula and caving in the Cango was all part of the plan  that AWOL put together for  Shaneka Julian and her sister Sharida, from USA.

On the tour we enjoyed as many local African flavours as possible – such as  ostrich steak burger the famous Cape Malay dish, Boboti and mozambican espitadas.
African flavours
It was amazing to find out that both the girls and I come from similar backgrounds, even though we are from different parts of the world. Leaving the Garden Route behind us, and entering Cape Town we were suddenly gripped with excitement as we realised that it is the eve of the biggest sporting spectacle South Africa will ever experience! Cape Town welcomed us with people running the streets, blowing on their vuvuzelas. Once again our country have the opportunity to unite with the rest of the world and forget about our troubles. Being an ambassador for our country make me proudly South African!
