The Lighthouse Café is a quaint and charming, French themed nook in the wall, Café located in Simons Town on St Georges Street (the Simons Town main road) and on the Peninsula Cycle Route. With the most delectable and tasty food and a calm yet spirited ambiance, this is a must for a light meal whilst on your cycling adventure.
Although there is no view, the coastal French Provençal feel brings the essence of this hidden gem to life. With rustic repurposed furniture and décor, a casual and sweat friendly vibe (there are tables outside for anyone feeling a little sweaty and in need of a gust of the famous Simons Town winds) and fresh, healthy, and vegetarian/vegan options or a much-needed carb intake (the burgers are divine) along your cycle.
The only downside is that coffee is unavailable during load shedding and bike racks aren’t provided, however just a short walk down the road there are public racks available if you have a chain and lock.
And like their slogan, the Lighthouse Café has fabulous food, fabulous people, and a fabulous vibe so we give them a 4/5, which is no surprise considering they were rated the TripAdvisor’s Travellers’ Choice restaurant in Simons Town in 2022.
